by BeautifullyNappy

Hello, we discussed the causes of a dry itchy scalp here, so here are some natural remedies to control or totally eliminate the problem of dry itchy scalp.

  1. Neem oil: Massage 1-2 tea spoons of neem oil directly into your scalp and leave on overnight. You can also add 1 tea spoon of neem oil to your shampoo any time you wash your hair. Neem contains medicinal properties and its effective against several human fungi, including candida which is a major cause of dandruff. Neem oil has properties which inhibit both the building and releasing of histamine and support the body’s ability to reduce inflammation, making it wonderful for treating dry itchy scalp.  Application of neem oil directly to the scalp will soothe the itching naturally and possibly cure it. You can get pure high-quality neem oil here.

  1. Apple Cider vinegar: Mix 1 part of Apple cider vinegar with 2 parts of water, spray this mix into your scalp. Massage the mix into your scalp and leave in for about 30 mins then rinse of with cool water. Repeat this process twice a week.Apple cider vinegar has powerful anti- inflammatory properties that kill virus and yeast which causes an itchy scalp.  It also helps balance the scalps PH which may stabilize conditions in the scalp causing the inflammation and thereby taking care of your dry itchy scalp problem.

  1. Aloe vera powder/ gel/ juice: Mix 1 table spoon of aloe powder with enough water to make a runny paste and apply to your scalp. Leave the mix in for 15mins and then rinse of.  If you have FRESH aloe gel, you can apply it directly to your scalp and leave for 10-15mins and rinse of. Repeat once a weak. Its recommended you do a patch test for sensitivity ,it can sting. If it really stings from an undiluted patch test, mix it with 1-2 table spoons of water and apply to your scalp. Rinse out after 5 mins. Repeat this process once or twice a week if itching persists. Lemons are high in vitamin C, pectin, calcium, citric acid, calcium and magnesium. The acidic natural of lemons helps clean the scalp and unclog hair follicles, also the antifungal natural of lemon juice makes it excellent for relieving a dry itchy scalp.
